- Depth of field is the distance between the nearest and furthest objects in a picture and the sharpness between them.
- Aperture is the hole in the camera that the light travels through. Adjusting it changes the depth of field. Larger aperture sizes result in shallow depth of field and smaller aperture size results in deeper depth of field.
- I used Instagram to change my depth of field. I used the tilt shift tool and screenshotted them. Then I cropped them on my phone. Regular cameras use f stops to change the depth of field.

Kristen, Payton, and I made this together. Cities in the 1880's had skyscrapers being constantly built. Workers always had to balance and they were at risk. They ate lunch up there and had conversations. People had been hurt and killed on the job before. This continued to happen through the mid 1900's when this picture was taken.
This is a photo series using different light sources and objects to create shadows. We had to have clear shadows and a part of the object showing. The elements of art are the building blocks of art. These include line, color, value, shape, form, space, and texture. The principals of art are the tools we use to make art. These include balance, symmetrical balance, asymmetrical balance, emphasis, contrast, rhythm, movement, pattern, repetition, unity, variety, and proportion. The elements of art interact with the principles because the elements are used to organize them. It's not always easy to only show one of each. You have to really go in trying to get specific ones or else you could have a bunch of them. Sometimes that works but sometimes it just comes out really unorganized. A genre is how something is categorized because of its style, meaning, etc.
Art: Usually they're appealing to the viewer and can stir up some emotion. War: Pictures of battles or their aftermath that show people what's really going on. Digital Truth: Photos that are altered to show something different than the actual photo. Presidential Image-making: Casual or formal pictures of the President. Advertising and Persuasion: They advertise a product and make it seem appealing. Social Change: They show bad conditions in hope that when people see them they'll try to make change. Cultural Identity: They show the good and bad times of people of different cultures.
