- I think selfies definitely aren't a bad thing. A lot of people from older generations think that since we take them we're self obsessed. They really don't mean that at all. It can take a lot for someone to put a picture out there for the world to see. So if someone takes a picture of themselves they really love, why is that a bad thing? It helps with confidence in most cases. Selfies and self portraits differ in many ways. Selfies are generally less thought out than self portraits in that self portraits have an artistic meaning behind them. Not that selfies don't, but it's less prominent. There's so much thought and planning in self portraits. There can be different meanings and interpretations in them. Selfies are always taken by the person in it and it's not really showing anything but the person. They're taken for display, not art.
- I didn't plan my photo shoot at all. All three of them used the back camera. The first one was taken by putting my phone over my face and taking the picture. The second picture was taken by holding the camera close to the large mirror and holding the small mirror behind it. The third picture was taken by holding the camera close to the large mirror again, except this time the smaller mirror was angled to create three reflections. I used a filter on all three and blurred the negative space on the last two. I think they all came out pretty well.
- I don't think any of the photos really represent me. When I took the photos there wasn't any artistic thought in regards to myself. They fulfilled more of an aesthetic role. If I had to think about it and choose one it would be the first one because I'm wearing my Patriots hat and Duke sweatshirt. Sports are a big part of my life and I'm a fan of those teams so it shows a part of me.
